Privacy Policy

This privacy policy governs your use of the Gurbani Flow mobile application ("Application") and the gurbaniflow.com website. The Application provides a distraction-free environment for reading Gurbani (Sikh scriptures), including Nitnem banis and the daily Hukamnama from Sri Darbar Sahib.

The Application has no sign-up or login and does not ask for your name, email, phone number or any other personal information. All banis are stored on your device and can be read offline.

Your reading preferences (font size, theme, translation choices, keep-screen-awake), reading position, reading progress and bookmarks are saved locally on your device. They are not sent to us. Uninstalling the Application deletes them.

To show the daily Hukamnama, the Application downloads it from our server (Google Cloud Firestore). This request does not include any personal information. As with any internet request, Google's servers process your device's IP address to deliver the content.

The Application uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how the Application is used so we can improve it. It collects:

• Device model, operating system version, app version, and approximate country (derived from IP address)
• Usage events, such as which screens and banis are opened or finished, auto-scroll use, Simran sessions and shares
• A pseudonymous app-instance identifier and, on Android, the device advertising ID

This data is not linked to your name or contact details. We do not show ads, do not sell data and do not use the advertising ID for advertising. We do not collect your precise location.

The website uses no cookies and no analytics.

You can stop all data collection by the Application by uninstalling it. On Android you can also reset or delete your advertising ID in your device settings.

Analytics data is retained according to our Google Analytics for Firebase retention setting, which does not exceed 14 months.

The Application is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

All communication between the Application and our servers uses HTTPS encryption.

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the date above.
